Real transformations

Most people are born with less than perfect teeth. Depending on the severity of one’s teeth alignment … be it crowding, overbite, spacing or caps, or just plain crooked teeth … for several decades patients have chosen to address these issues through orthodontics.

The orthodontic choice used to be wire braces. But in most cases, this method is now old hat … only used in extreme situations. The new way to straighten your teeth are clear aligners. At the Carson & Acasio Dental Group, we offer SureSmile Clear Aligners which are similar to Invisalign. Believe it or not, in just a short amount of time over one million patients have been treated with SureSmile brand Clear Aligners.
If you're considering getting your teeth straightened, you likely have questions about how clear aligners compare to traditional braces, their benefits, and if they're the right solution for you. They work for folks of all ages.
In this article we will explore the many advantages of SureSmile Clear Aligners, highlighting their aesthetic appeal, comfort, and convenience compared to conventional braces. We’ll also cover how this modern approach can lead to better oral hygiene, a confident smile, and a highly personalized treatment experience.

How SureSmile Clear Aligners deliver results
With Advanced, Tailored Technology
SureSmile Clear Aligners are created using cutting-edge technology, which include our practice’s 3D imaging and robotics, to ensure a perfect, custom fit for your teeth. This sophisticated approach allows your treatment to be precise and highly effective, as advanced software simulates every tiny tooth movement. The result is incredible accuracy and predictability, leading to better outcomes for you.
What to Expect on Your Journey
Your SureSmile experience begins with a digital impression of your teeth. This scan serves as the blueprint for your personalized treatment plan. Once your custom-made aligners are ready, you will wear a series of them, graduating to a new set every couple of weeks. Regular check-ins with us ensure your progress remains on track and any necessary adjustments are made. The entire process is designed to be straightforward and seamless, helping you achieve the smile you've always wanted.
You will also have an app for your phone to help you stay on course.
SureSmile Clear Aligners: A Modern Alternative to Braces
While both clear aligners and traditional braces effectively correct orthodontic issues, clear aligners offer significant advantages. They are discreet, virtually invisible, and significantly more comfortable than bulky, noticeable braces with their wires and brackets. With SureSmile Clear Aligners, you can forget about the hassle of poking wires and complex maintenance.
Why do patients choose clear aligners?
Aesthetic Confidence
For those who want to straighten their teeth without a noticeable appliance, clear aligners are an ideal choice. They are clear, thin, and barely visible—even during important meetings or in photographs. The clear aligners allow you to feel confident in every social or professional situation throughout your treatment.
Comfort and Convenience

Orthodontic treatment shouldn't be painful or inconvenient. Clear aligner's smooth plastic design eliminates the irritation and sharp edges associated with braces. The aligners are also completely removable, and easy to put back in place, which means you can eat whatever you want and maintain your normal, flawless brushing and flossing routine. Enjoying a movie with popcorn or keeping up with your dental hygiene is effortless with clear aligners.
Reliable and Efficient Outcomes

The technological precision behind SureSmile’s product ensures the entire process is as efficient as possible. By planning every tooth movement in advance, treatment progresses smoothly, and the results are highly predictable. Whether you have minor crowding, spacing, or bite problems, SureSmile Clear Aligners are designed to deliver your perfect smile with minimal fuss.
Important considerations
The Financial Investment
Clear aligners provide amazing benefits, but do require a financial investment. The total cost varies based on the complexity of your case. While some dental insurance plans may offer partial coverage, it is essential to plan for potential out-of-pocket expenses. We can offer flexible payment plans, and a portion of the cost may be covered by your insurance, so be sure to discuss your options with your provider.
Commitment to Wear Time
The success of clear aligners hinges on your commitment to wearing the aligners as prescribed—typically 23 hours per day. This means removing them only for eating and cleaning. If you tend to be forgetful or might misplace them, you'll need to focus on building strong habits. The good news is that with dedication, staying on track is entirely achievable.
Not Suitable for All Cases
While clear aligners are excellent for correcting mild to moderate alignment issues, they may not be the best solution for more severe or complex orthodontic problems. Your dentist will perform a thorough assessment to determine if aligners are appropriate for you or if a different treatment option is better suited to your needs.
Frequently asked questions
Question | Answer |
How Long Does Treatment Take? | On average, treatment spans 12 to 18 months. However, your specific timeline will depend on the complexity of your case and how diligently you wear your aligners. Your dentist will provide a personalized plan and progress updates. |
Are There Food Restrictions? | None! Since the aligners are removable, you are free to eat and drink whatever you like. Just remember to brush your teeth before placing your aligners back in to maintain optimal oral health. |
How Do I Care for the Aligners? | Cleaning is simple: use a soft toothbrush and a clear, non-abrasive toothpaste or an orthodontist-recommended cleaner to keep them fresh. Always store them in their protective case when they are not in your mouth to prevent loss or damage. |
SureSmile vs. Other Brands (like Invisalign)? | SureSmile differentiates itself through its use of robotic technology, which offers superior precision and fit compared to other aligners. While Invisalign is widely known, many patients prefer SureSmile for its specific advantages in accuracy and customization. |

For what it’s worth, this writer regrets not taking advantage of the opportunity to have braces as a young adult. As I look back, it would have provided me with two benefits:
A more confident smile. I never liked the gap between my two front teeth.
Better alignment between my teeth which would have made it easier to remove food stuck between my teeth, or embedded in my gums.
I would have a healthier mouth today, with far fewer cavities, missing teeth, crowns, and dental bills.
