Wouldn't that be great? What a joy!

Feet walking on hot coals.

You no longer have to put off important, and perhaps even critical, dental treatments. No more comparing going to the dentist to be like walking on hot coals. No more pain and anxiety while we make your teeth and mouth healthy and pretty. We also provide all levels of sedation, including general anesthesia. A complete makeover can be accomplished while you are asleep.

When doing dental work, we use durable, long-lasting materials. We provide the best aesthetic/cosmetic dentistry and have our own world-class dental lab on site. What's more, we can save you lots of time and money by often doing dental work in one visit, rather than many trips.

Dr. Derek not looking forward to a dental procedure without sleep sedation.

You’re going to laugh at the next statement. Even our very own Dr. Carson painfully admits he is a dental phobic. Really? He’s extremely anxious when sitting in a chair … afraid of pain. Perhaps, like most of us, he doesn’t like being out of control, either.

Dr. Derek has been licensed to administer sleep sedation since 2005, and is a Dental Sedation Examiner for the State of California.

A man who is looking for ways to avoid a dental appointment.

Let’s look at the many reasons why people avoid the dentist:

Reason 1 Not important or plain avoidance.

Many don’t consider dental treatment … prevention and/or repair … important. I’ll come back and address this issue later. But to think this way is just plain wrong.

Reason 2 Cost.

This is a legitimate concern, but can easily be addressed. There are many ways to pay for dental treatment, aside from insurance, which is no more than a discount coupon that you have to pay for.

We offer payment plans in-house, as well as have two financing options for making easy monthly payments over the long-haul … Care Credit and Sunbit.

Reason 3 Inconvenience.

With our sophisticated and state-of-the-art digital dental technology, and our own lab on site for making many dental appliances, we dramatically reduce the time spent at our practice.

Reason 4 Finding the right dentistry.

There are dozens of dental caregivers to choose from. Why choose Carson & Acasio Dental Group?

From the time you walk in the door and are greeted by our staff, to the skillful treatment by our dentists and support team, to the time you walk out, our mission is to make you comfortable every step of the way.

We’re not the new kids on the block … the Carson family, which now includes Dr. Mike Acasio … has been treating patients in Ventura County for over 50 years.

A woman in a state of panic at the dentist who has no sleep sedation therapy.

Reason 5 Out and out fear.

It’s a simple fact, Dental work can be painful and uncomfortable which is a natural cause of anxiety. Every person we treat has a different tolerance level for pain. Most people don’t look forward to painful experiences.

There’s also something about being (almost) strapped to a chair and having someone fussing in their mouth with various implements. It may also be an issue of being out of control. It certainly is with me.

Okay,  let’s get to the heart of the matter.

If you are avoiding having dentistry work done because of fear, anxiety, or anything else psychologically related, then sleep sedation offered by us will totally alleviate these issues for you.

A very unhappy tooth because his owner has avoided visits to the dentist.

Life is about choices and consequences. Putting off visits to the dentist is one of the worst choices you can make. Think about what you may face without proper and regular dental treatments:

  1. An appearance you may not be happy with.

  2. A lack of self-confidence.

  3. Difficulty and lack of enjoyment when chewing and eating.

  4. Pain and suffering.

  5. Local infection … swollen and bleeding gums.

  6. Teeth which break and crack.

  7. Teeth which have to be removed (pulled) due to root canal failure.

  8. Serious and possible life-threatening issues which may start with your brain and spread to your entire vascular system.

Do you get the picture? The reasons for putting your dental needs at the top of your to-do list should be making sense to you by now. Stop putting off one of the most important things you can do to take care of yourself. Through sleep sedation you will face no more fear, anxiety or pain.

How does sleep sedation work?

  1. You are administered a drug cocktail through an IV which puts you in a relaxed state. We call it twilight.

  2. You are still awake and can be responsive to questions, but feel no pain and are unaware of what the dental team is doing.

  3. The drugs, which are a combination of a pain reliever and amnesiac, are totally safe and do not require any special machines.

  4. Once the procedure is completed, the IV drip is turned off and you are awake almost immediately. People often ask when will we get started with the treatment?

  5. You leave a happy dental camper and won’t remember anything about the treatment.

Important caveats:

No driving for 24 hours after sleep sedation therapy.

  1. The drugs suppress the nervous system, so you must have a friend or family member drive you to and from your appointment.

  2. You should avoid stressful activities or driving for 24 hours or so. Your gait may be a little unsteady, but while you feel like dancing because we have made you so happy, hold off until the next day.

  3. Don’t make any important decisions for at least a day.

  4. You do not need to prepare with nasty gut cleansing drugs, like with a colonoscopy.

That's it. Are you convinced?

If so, stop putting off your dental treatments and call us for a free consultation. (805) 983-0717. Our staff is friendly and promises not to bark or bite when you come in.
