Ok, so I’m making light of what can be/is a painful, miserable and potentially serious dental problem.
If you, or a member of your family, have broken teeth, call us right away. With four dentists, we’re available for dental emergencies 7 days a week.
Whether it’s your child who has had a playground or household mishap, or an adult who was enjoying those delicious chicken wings until disaster struck, the sooner you have your tooth/teeth repaired, the happier you and your mouth will be.
I speak from experience as over the years I have encountered several broken teeth. The first one was when I was at an Asian restaurant having a business meeting and a bone in the chicken stir fry did me in.
Ironically, in the most recent event, I broke a tooth while dining on a steak during a marketing meeting with Dr. Derek and Dr. Mike. I expected that one was bound to happen, as I knew it was failing and had an appointment for it to be removed. As fate would have it, the molar next to it was deader than a doornail, was fused to the bone, and had to be removed as well.
Dr. Mike did a masterful job of removing the offending teeth … without sleep sedation I may add … and he is planning to install an implant in several months when the jaw is healed and the bone has regenerated through the graft he placed.
Admittedly, over my lifetime I haven’t practiced what I am preaching in regards to taking care of my teeth and mouth. Perhaps that’s why I am so passionate about spreading the word to others to be proactive in preventive and restorative dental care before it’s too late.
Although I’m not a smoker and avoid soda like the plague, these two items alone can destroy a mouth and your teeth in a New York minute. Soda is known by restaurant operators for causing many headaches by clogging and eating away at their lines. It’s the acids in sodas which erode teeth enamel.
I still have this uneasy feeling that the radiation I received 20 years ago on the left side of my face probably was instrumental in weakening some of the teeth and even possibly fusing that back molar to my jaw bone.
Be that as it may, the moral to this story is if you or a loved one has broken teeth, we will fix them for you in a flash.
